Struggling with Dry Hair in the Winter?

Are you struggling with dry hair in the winter? Winter can be seriously harsh on our hair. Cold, dry air, harsh weather, and everything else that comes with it can make your hair dehydrated and more prone to breakage. If your hair is feeling brittle, try these tips to keep it healthy and hydrated.

Healthy Hair Tips…

  1. Turn Down the Heat:

A hot shower on a cold day can be the best thing in the world, but too much hot water on our hair can seriously strip moisture from hair and skin. Try to keep showers lukewarm, and keep them short.

  2. Put Down the Shampoo:

At least some of the time. Shampoo cleanses dirt and products from your hair, but it also strips the hair of the natural oils that keep your hair soft and healthy. Try to shampoo only once or twice a week.

  3. Avoid Heat Styling:

As fun as it is to blow out, straighten, and curl, it can wreak chaos on healthy hair. Allow your hair to air dry as much as possible, and give straighteners and curling wands a little break.

  4. Eat Healthy Fats:

Omega-3 fatty acids keep hair shiny and help it to grow, and the body can produce them alone. Add salmon, avocado, or nuts to your diet to make sure you're getting enough. You could also try taking an Omega 369 supplement to help.

  5. Up your Vitamin C:

Vitamin C has antioxidant properties that help produce again free radical damage, helping to protect against split ends and breakage to keep your hair healthy and voluminous. Citrus fruits are a great source of vitamin C as well as other supplements.
